Answer Key + Explained Answers:

Q1 – B) Joyful. “Happy” means joyful / pleased. “Sad / Angry / Tired” are not synonyms.

Q2 – B) Poor. “Rich” means wealthy. Its antonym is “Poor.” “Wealthy / Affluent / Prosperous” are near-synonyms.

Q3 – B) Beautiful. Correct spelling: B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. “Beautifull” has an extra L; “Beutiful” misses A; “Beautyfull” adds L.

Q4 – B) To say exactly the right thing. “To hit the nail on the head” means to be exactly right, not literally to hammer.

Q5 – B) Al-Baqarah. Surah Al-Baqarah (Chapter 2) is the longest Surah (286 verses). Al-Fatiha is shortest in terms of verses (7); Al-Imran is second longest; Al-Kahf is Chapter 18.

Q6 – C) 5. There are 5 Farz prayers per day: Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha.

Q7 – C) Badr. The Battle of Badr (2 AH) was the first Ghazwa (battle led by the Prophet PBUH). Uhud (3 AH), Khandaq (5 AH), and Tabuk (9 AH) came later.

Q8 – B) Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA). Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (RA) was the first Caliph (11–13 AH). Umar (RA) was second, Uthman (RA) third, Ali (RA) fourth.

Q9 – A) Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. “Shah Jo Risalo” is Bhittai’s famous Sindhi poetry collection. Sachal Sarmast, Bulleh Shah, and Waris Shah are other Sufi poets, not the author of this work.

Q10 – B) Mirza Hadi Ruswa. “Umrao Jaan Ada” (1899) is Mirza Hadi Ruswa’s famous Urdu novel. Premchand wrote “Godan”; Krishan Chander and Ismat Chughtai are other Urdu writers.

Q11 – A) Having a single theme throughout. A Nazm has one continuous theme; a Ghazal has independent couplets, each with its own theme. A Nazm can have rhyme and can be long — the distinction is thematic unity.

Q12 – A) A poetry gathering / recital. A Mushaira is a gathering where poets recite their poetry. It is not a novel, newspaper, or school.

Q13 – B) Rs 100. One apple = 30 ÷ 3 = Rs 10. Ten apples = 10 × 10 = Rs 100.

Q14 – C) 36. Series is squares: 1²=1, 2²=4, 3²=9, 4²=16, 5²=25, 6²=36. (49 would be 7², two steps ahead.)

Q15 – B) 40. 50% of 80 = 0.5 × 80 = 40.

Q16 – C) 8. 2x = 16 → x = 16 ÷ 2 = 8.

Q17 – C) Paris. Paris is the capital of France. London = UK, Berlin = Germany, Madrid = Spain.

Q18 – C) Nile. The Nile is generally considered the longest river by length (about 6,650 km). The Amazon is longer by some measures and largest by discharge, but the Nile is the standard answer for “longest by length” in MCQs.

Q19 – C) Mercury. Mercury is the smallest planet. Pluto is a dwarf planet, not a planet. Venus and Mars are larger than Mercury.

Q20 – C) Mercury. Mercury is the only metal that is liquid at room temperature. Iron, copper, and aluminium are solids at room temperature.
