Why CSS Past Papers Are Your Best Preparation Tool
Two decades of FPSC papers reveal how the exam actually behaves: which topics recur, how questions are framed, and how the pattern has shifted over time. Moreover, working through them builds the three skills the written exam really tests: time management, structured writing and applied analysis.
Use them actively. For example, attempt papers under timed conditions, and then compare your answers with solved papers. Also note recurring themes in Current Affairs and Pakistan Affairs, so the trends can guide your revision priorities.
About the CSS Exam
The Central Superior Services (CSS) Competitive Examination is conducted annually by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) to recruit officers for Pakistan’s civil services, including the administrative, police, foreign service and customs groups.
Candidates first clear the MCQ-based Preliminary Test (MPT), then sit a 1,200-mark written exam with six compulsory papers (600 marks) and optional subjects (600 marks), followed by a psychological assessment and interview. Learn more about the CSS exam →
